Alicia, Creator & Editor-in-chief

Alicia is a Georgetown University graduate working in the health care technology space. Originally from Queens, she now resides in Brooklyn, NY. She loves her hair and can often be found finagling her curls into elaborate styles on day 4 of her wash and go. She started Cubicles & Curls after talking to many women who did not feel comfortable wearing their natural curly hair in the workplace. Alicia creates content to show others that natural hair is professional and to inspire people with curly hair to try new styles. She loves to read, write, and hear people's life stories and so blogging seemed like the best way to pursue her mission. Recently, Alicia was crowned Ms. Black & Natural NYC and uses her platform to continue to promote natural hair while supporting programs that help girls and women aspire to and excel in careers where they are underrepresented. When she's not blogging, she can be found listening to podcasts, immersing herself into the latest tech news, or taking a new class on Classpass.
